In part one of this workshop. Dr. Lai explored cultural diversity in Calgary. He pointed out myths, misconceptions, and unintentional biases that people may have when interacting or working with culturally diverse groups.

In the second part of the workshop, Dale McCarthy provided volunteers with a broader understanding of the reasons and underlying factors that contribute to cultural misunderstandings. Knowing the reasons will help volunteers cope with conflicts and help learners adjust to a new culture.
