volunteer profile - Jason

This time we are featuring a "new to us" but not "new to volunteering" volunteer. Jason Spencer has recently begun his latest involvement in giving back to the community with a Chinese speaking elder. Jason has taught himself to speak and read Chinese. His new Chinese friends say he has remarkable pronunciation. He now wants to go to China to teach ESL. He is no stranger to foreign travel and volunteering; a few years ago, he volunteered in Johannesburg, South Africa teaching computer literacy with VSO. Like most volunteers, he has grown up with volunteering as part of his life style. We certainly welcome Jason to the next phase of his volunteer life with CCIS and to the Calgary community.
