volunteer profile - Jo

I have been volunteering with the ESL program at the YWCA for only six months, and I really love it! The students are so eager to learn and appreciate every snippet of information I can share with them about our English language. I can’t image how difficult it is for them to build a life in Canada without knowing the language, and I’m amazed at their tenacity and courage.

I came to Canada from England over thirty years ago with my husband and small boys. Now we are Canadians and love the quality of life this country has to offer us. I love reading, gardening and travelling, visiting with family and friends, and playing with my grandchildren.
