volunteer profile - Meadow

Meadow has been a volunteer with CCIS for almost 5 years. During that time she has helped people of varying ages and language abilities. Her training as a Social Worker has certainly given her the skill sets needed to understand ESL learners. Prior to volunteering with our program, Meadow tutored young children with developmental delays and autism. We are so fortunate to have a volunteer such as Meadow. Her current learner and she have become very close friends, very common as we know. This friendship has become a family affair, so much so that when the learner’s son was married last summer, Meadow was invited to the wedding. She says that this experience certainly was rewarding and cemented the friendship. It also broadened her knowledge of another culture.
