volunteer profile - Norma, Carol and Elizabeth

Crowfoot Library has been fortunate to have a team of volunteers for the ESL Conversation Club who are enthusiastic, dedicated and willing to go the extra mile for the students registered in the program. This past summer Crowfoot’s ESL conversation club had a long waiting list. The volunteers eagerly agreed that running a second club on a Monday night might be the best way to accommodate all the registrants. The three volunteers, Norma, Carol and Elizabeth organized, facilitated and attended the Conversation Club every Monday and Tuesday night from July 11 to August 25th. Both classes were well attended for all sessions, a testament to the team’s good work.

Elizabeth has been volunteering for ESL Conversation Club since the Crowfoot Library opened in 2004; since that time she has only missed one session of the club. Norma has volunteered for the program since the second session held at Crowfoot and has been an integral part of the conversation club team since then. Carol is the most recent addition to the team and brings a special set of skills to the group. These three volunteers work extremely effectively together and really consider themselves a team. They all agree that the relationships they have built with each other and the participants are the reasons they continue returning to ESL Conversation Club.
