VESL website launch

Volunteers were invited to celebrate the launch of the VESL website. The morning included a special keynote address by Mario Siciliano, President & CEO of Volunteer Calgary.

Mario Siciliano believes that volunteers help build sustainable communities. In his keynote address, Mario spoke about the specific contributions volunteers working with ESL learners make to the community. Mario also shared recent Volunteer Calgary findings on the current state of immigrant volunteers in Calgary. He discussed the barriers and benefits of volunteering to immigrants and the significant role volunteers play in immigrants’ lives.
